Kent Hills Passes After Four Decades with MAD

Chris Wells writes: With sadness, I would like to report the passing of H Kent Hills on Sept. 10. He was a member of the MAD orchestra for about 40 years, which had to be a record, and I was the conductor for the last 23 of those years, until COVID suspended operations. For two of our productions, “Brigadoon” in 2001 and “Into the Woods” in 2013, when we lost our rehearsal space because Goddard Space Flight Center was closed down, he arranged for us to rehearse, free of charge, at his church (where the memorial service will be held), just one example of his quiet dedication to our club. There will be a visitation on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10-11 and a celebration of life service at 11, followed by lunch, at the Glenn Dale United Methodist Church, 8500 Springfield Rd., Glenn Dale, MD 20769. Members of the Greenbelt Band and other organizations of which he was a part (there were many), please spread the word.  Here is a link to his obituary.
