The Center badging process is a trying one. The system requires that individuals have minimal background checks if their access to the Center has gone over 30 days in a year period. So, the process for giving club members a 30-day badge in lieu of a picture badge runs out the clock for access without a background check.
With that in mind, we took a different tact with the Workshops and the Spring Show. We met with Security and worked out a process to use the Special Event badges. This has seemed to work well. Members show up a little early for the workshop, pick up their badge at the Badging office and proceed on Center. This provides us a path forward for individuals who have difficulties (or impossibilities) with coordinating picture badges within the Badging office limited hours.
For the Spring Show rehearsals in May, we will continue to use the Special Event badge process. Tech Week and the Show will be in the Visitor Center.
