Are you curious about directing a show, but want a gentler introduction to the role than a full-fledged MAD Fall Musical? Have a great idea (or three!) for threading scenes from different shows into a coherent theme? Want to give some of the other volunteers a break from directing?
You’re in luck because MAD is currently open for idea submissions and directors for the 2025 Spring Variety Show!
Past variety show themes have been fantasy, aliens, and Broadway, but themes can be as loose as colors, animals, or love. Acts can include musical numbers (singing, dancing, and/or instrumentals), monologues/dialogues, full scenes, and comedy routines, but other out-of-the-box ideas can be proposed as well. Do you want to do something other than MAD’s traditional variety show? Direct a full play? Organize a workshop? Run an improv group? Please submit your idea, whatever it is!
